A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for our recent Open Evening. We hope you found the event informative and that the visiting agencies were able to offer useful support and guidance. We always welcome feedback, so please do share your thoughts with us.
We’re especially grateful to our dedicated staff for giving up their time to support the evening, and to our Governors who attended and took the opportunity to meet with parents and carers. Your involvement helps make events like these so valuable.
Next Friday, our football team will proudly take part in the Paul Morgan Cup 2025, held in memory of Mr. Paul Morgan, former Headteacher of Ynysfach Primary. Mr. Morgan was a passionate advocate for education, a respected leader in our community, and a great supporter of football. He believed in the power of sport to bring children together through teamwork, inclusivity, and fun.
We’re honoured to be part of this special event that celebrates his legacy and love for the game.
Please look out for the following forms coming home with pupils:
We kindly ask that all forms are completed and returned as soon as possible.
A reminder to all families with children in Reception to Year 6 to complete the Nasal Flu online consent form. If you need any help, please don’t hesitate to contact the school office.
We kindly ask that pupils do not bring footballs or rugby balls into school. This has caused some issues on the pitch, including balls being kicked into neighbouring gardens. We will continue to provide footballs for playtime, but we’re unable to replace them frequently.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
School photo day is on Monday. All pupils will be photographed individually and with their siblings. If you would like a group photo that includes children not currently attending our school, please arrive by 8:50am.
We have a vibrant week ahead, full of exciting activities:
And finally, a huge thank you to all of our staff who, over the past three weeks, have worked tirelessly for our pupils—stepping into different roles throughout the day, running after-school activities, and attending numerous late meetings. Our school is built on teamwork, and it’s this spirit of collaboration that creates meaningful opportunities for our children. We are truly grateful for the dedication and care shown by every member of our team.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to welcoming all pupils back on Monday for another exciting and enriching week at Creunant Primary School.
Warm Regards
Mrs. M. Teague
Re: Transition Day and Parent/Carer Open Evening
Dear Parent / Carer,
We are writing to you about the upcoming transition events for you and your child that will be taking place throughout the year. Transition is something that, as a school, we pride ourselves on, and are really looking to working with you and your child over the course of the year.
Key Transition Dates
For your child to attend the transition day we require written parent/carer consent, and the consent form is included alongside this letter. If you child is in a feeder primary school for Llangatwg then this form must be returned to the primary school before the first transition visit. If your child is not in a feeder primary school then this should be brought with you when you drop your child off.
If you child is in one of our feeder primary schools then they will be transported to Llangatwg from their primary school to arrive at approximately 9.30am. If they are not in a feeder primary school we kindly ask that they are brought to the main school reception for 09.30am start.
On this transition day we ask that all learners come with a packed lunch. This will allow us to make full use of the day, and so therefore food will not be available to purchase on this day. We ask that if there any difficulties around providing a packed lunch for your child for you to link with your child’s primary school.
Pupils will leave Llangatwg at 1pm and make their way back to their primary schools. If your child is not in a Llangatwg feeder primary school we ask that they are collected from the main reception at 1pm. We also ask that you ensure that your child’s primary school knows that they are attending a transition day on this date.
If you have any questions or queries in the meantime then please feel free to contact us.
Lauren Mackie (Headteacher) Scott Barnes (Assistant Headteacher)
