Stereo Hearts

We go to Creunant school

We all made friends that much is true

Working hard and being fools

We’re growing up so fast

And these good times well they won’t last

But our memories are always true

It’s all about me and it’s all about you

Let’s meet year 6 they’re very old and dusty on a shelf
Would you like to see them, they’re like nobody else

We’ve got the Bird called Rhys and then a Jayden too,
Leo, Amy are the best, then we’ve got the Flews

Then meet Sasha, Ashlee, Courtney, making Tiktok new

Thankfully Anwyn and Jack are the sensible few,
That leaves Dainton and Seren to complete the crew

They are year 6’s, and they definitely ain’t new.

If I could only find a way to make you understand,

We’re different people, different faces, different arms and hands,

But we’re joined by this place, yeah that much is true,

And know we’re grateful for it all, it’s been down to you

We go to Creunant school

We all made friends that much is true

Working hard and being fools

We’re growing up so fast

And these good times well they won’t last

But our memories are always true

It’s all about me and it’s all about you

Oh Oh

If you thought year 6 were bad then meet this troublesome lot,

They’re a bunch of cheeky kids, that won’t be forgot.

There’s Sam reading a book and Elizabeth doing art,

Neave and Man Yan are best friend they’re never apart.

Here come the boys, Ellis, Theo, Dylan, Rhodri too,

Ioan, Jac and Mason make up the crazy crew,
Are there any sensible children in year 5? I think not

Meet Freya, Gwen and Abi, they complete this foolish lot.
If I could only find a way to make you understand,

We’re different people, different faces, different arms and hands,

But we’re joined by this place, yeah that much is true,

And know we’re grateful for it all, its been down to you

We go to Creunant school

We all made friends that much is true

Working hard and being fools

We’re growing up so fast

And these good times well they won’t last

But our memories are always true

It’s all about me and it’s all about you

Oh Oh

I only pray you never leave me behind,

Because good friends they can be so hard to find,

I take your hand and pull it closer to mine,

We’ve made best friends and know that they’ll last for life

We go to Creunant school

We all made friends that much is true

Working hard and being fools

We’re growing up so fast

And these good times well they won’t last

But our memories are always true

It’s all about me and it’s all about you

Oh Oh

School News

School News

It was lovely to see all of our pupils returning back to school safely following the half term break. WE are pleased to see that most pupils now manage the staggered times well.  These continue to be worrying times for all of us and never has there been a greater time to remember and follow the 2M rule particularly when gathering outside school to collect children.  Please remember to use both sides of the pavements, leave as soon as you have collected your child and not to arrive too early. 40% of schools have had Covid cases and we are working extremely hard not to become a part of these statistics. None of us want to be sending children home to self-isolate and miss valuable time in school so please help us to keep our school Covid free by following Government Guidelines outside our school.

Attendance

Thank you to everyone for helping us to achieve great attendance since September. Our attendance currently stands at 94.66% which puts us first in our cluster of schools and second out of all of the schools in the local authority. Well done everyone!

Developing our outdoor space

A big thank you to our caretaker Mrs. Slocombe and Mrs. Lewis for working extremely hard yesterday to take down our old shed and clean up the yard for our pupils to enjoy the outdoor space. Also a huge thank you to Huw Davies for kindly offering to take away the huge pile of wood created from the work to make sure that the children could get straight back in the yard today.  We are really grateful for the help received.

The Poppy Appeal

This year we are delighted to let you know that we have raised £266.70 to support the Poppy Appeal. Thank you for your donations towards the many items which the children have enjoyed buying.

Science Grant

We were delighted this week to get the good news that we have received a £600 science grant from the Edina Trust. We will look forward to spending the money soon and creating many new little scientists with some great resources.

Christmas DVDs

Huge apologies for the delay with the Christmas DVDs. We have not forgotten about them, and have been continuously chasing them up.  For safeguarding reasons, we have to use a specific local authority company.  Following the lengthy initial lockdown they had to move premises and it has taken them a long time to set up their large amount of equipment.  We have been told that the manager returns to work on Monday and we will endeavour to chase them up again.

Remote Learning

As we are unable to allow any visitors into the school to support the children with their learning, many of the experiences for the children are being provided through Teams where the children get to talk to visitors and learn new things via the computer.  Today Class 1 worked with the Road Safety Team to learn about Kerb Craft and the whole school will have Teams training on Road Safety on November 24th.  As part of our journey working towards the new curriculum, children have to become “Ethically Informed Citizens”.  This means that we have to support children with their learning and understanding of the world around them.  Watching Newsround helps the children to learn about the current news in a child friendly way and today year 6 had a Teams meeting where they interviewed Assembly Member Jeremy Miles. Classes 3 and 4 will also be working through Teams on Cycle Safety.

Children in Need

We will be supporting the Children in Need appeal on Friday 13th November.  Children can wear pyjamas and send in donations.  All children will be involved in activities within their own classes.

Thank you for your continued support.

Kind regards

Mrs. M. Teague

Information From South Wales Police

Information from South Wales Police

As we approach another lockdown period here in Wales, we kindly ask for your support in sharing the following message with your learners.

For Halloween

  • We ask everyone to think how they can keep everyone safe this Halloween and not spread Coronavirus.
  • Traditional trick or treating is not allowed.
  • Halloween parties in either your home or at another venue are not allowed.
  •  Do not to meet anyone indoors that you don’t live with and do not meet up with your friends either indoors or outdoors.
  • Celebrate at home instead of going out and about.

For Bonfire Night

  • There will be no organised public bonfires or firework displays this year.
  • No visitors are allowed into your garden. If a firework display in your garden turns into a party at your house, you are putting everyone at risk of catching the Coronavirus.   The adults who look after you will be breaking the law.
  • REMEMBER it is illegal to buy Fireworks under the age of 18 – your parents/carers could be prosecuted.
  • You shouldn’t set off fireworks in a park or other public open space.  All local authorities in Wales have banned this.
  • Setting off fireworks in the street is anti-social.  It can be a fire risk and is against the law.

We kindly ask people to act responsibly and to keep each other safe. Staying safe and not adding extra pressure to the emergency services will be important.

In addition to the above the School Community Police Officer team have created two vlogs to support the above messaging. These vlogs are suitable for use in educational establishments. Please follow the link below to view;
