Dear Parents and Carers,
As we approach the half-term break, we still have two exciting and busy weeks ahead, filled with enriching activities and experiences for our pupils. During this time, we will also begin the next stage of our assessments. These are an important part of our planning, helping us to measure your child’s progress and to create new groupings for our Read Write Inc programme.
Good attendance is essential during this period to ensure your child is assessed accurately and placed in the most appropriate group. We’ll be sharing the outcomes of these assessments with you during our upcoming progress meetings.
Estyn Visit & School Development
Last week, we welcomed Estyn to review our progress against the Post Inspection Action Plan. It was a valuable opportunity to reflect on our journey so far, and we’re looking forward to sharing more with you during our upcoming information evening.
One helpful suggestion from Estyn was to develop more defined areas within the infant yard. Thanks to the generous support of Seven Sisters Saw Mills, we’ve already begun restructuring the space. Today, we were busy moving sheds and measuring up for new zones, including a den building area for KS2 and a water challenge area.
We’re also planning a den building area for the infant yard, and we’re on the lookout for short logs or tree stumps to use as seating. If you know of any sources for these materials, we’d be very grateful if you could get in touch.
PTA News & Upcoming Events
We’re incredibly thankful to our wonderful PTA for their continued support. Their events bring joy to our pupils and raise valuable funds for school activities.
If your child is attending the PTA Halloween Disco on Thursday, October 23rd, please make sure to complete the form on Schoop by Friday so that food can be ordered.
We’re also thrilled to announce that the PTA will be part-funding our Christmas pantomime trip on Tuesday December 16th. Every child from Reception to Year 6 will receive a £10 contribution towards the cost of attending Aladdin at Swansea Grand Theatre, reducing the cost from £20 to just £10 per child. More details, including the late return time, will be shared closer to the date.

After School Clubs
Thank you to everyone who has taken part in our after school clubs this term. This week will be the final week of clubs before the break. Please remember that there will not be Criw Cymraeg or Infant Fitness this Thursday because of staff training after school. New sign-up forms will be sent out shortly for clubs starting after half term.
