Below are some helpful links to support you and your family during a serious illness and bereavement
Death through serious illness | Dealing with terminal illness | Winston’s Wish (winstonswish.org
On-demand – this can be accessed as needed and at any point post bereavement. This is our Helpline, Live chat, ASK email and text support. It enables people to speak with a Bereavement Worker directly and access advice: Resources, Publications & Support Information | Winston’s Wish (winstonswish.org)
Grief Talk webinars – these are one hour sessions for adults that are online and aimed at providing information and advice about how children understand grief, strategies to support and an opportunity to ask questions: Live Grief Talks for young people and adults | Winston’s Wish (winstonswish.org)
One to one and groups – Some children and young people may need additional professional support to help them with their grief. A referral is needed for these two services and there needs to be an 8 week gap between the bereavement happening and a referral being made. Children 12 and under need an adult to refer them, young people age 13 and above can refer themselves.
